Why I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone...
For those of you that know me you are probably very surprised I have attended one of these meetings… this is way out of my comfort zone. Two hours before kick-off for this meeting I was trying to diagnose if I was actually coming down with some sort of sickness, or had the nerves hit in big time?… it was the nerves!
So, off I go to attend the First Woman’s Network get together in my local area. Started up by my long-time talented college friend. Knowing this did help calm the nerves on the drive in.
I had nothing to worry about… the room was full of 30 talented ladies who were just as interested in learning about my business as I was of listening to their amazing stories about how they have turned their passion into a business.
I even got asked to speak at another networking group… whoa back the bus up, baby steps for me.
I found out that Thames had a café that I never knew existed, yet it is the sort of café I would visit – fresh ingredients straight out of the garden to your plate. A new shop opening soon in Thames, that is supplying bulk wholefoods and household goods, where you take your own containers to refill to help reduce waste. Women Tours, Yoga, Nutrition, Web Designer the list goes on.
What I take away from this… Networking is a great way to get your business noticed and also meet some amazing humans along the way, so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone.
